Shelia began her dance training at the age of 10 in San Juan, Puerto Rico where she was born and raised. While studying at the university of Puerto Rico, Shelia obtained a scholarship to attend Hunter College in New York City. At Hunter College, she became of member of the Hunter College Dance Company and also studied a variety of dance styles at the Broadway Dance Center including modern, jazz, Hip-Hop, and Ballet. She also became a member of the Danza Jazz dance company and began her career as a professional dancer/choreographer working with a number of famous latin stars. Sheila then furhter developed her dance skills while working as a professional by attending the Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive program in New York City and taking classes at the Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles. In 2003, Shelia and her husband moved to Minneapolis, MN where she continued to teach dance and obtained a scholarship to train with the Zenon Dance Company of Minneapolis. Shelia has over 10 years of teaching experiance working with students of all ages to help them learn Jazz, Hip-Hop, Modern and Ballet dance styles.
